ESO on WFMT tonight at 8pm

The Elgin Symphony Orchestra will be on WFMT 98.7 tonight at 8pm.  This season's Classic 2 concert will be broadcast.

Michael Becker Masterclass at Northwestern University Tomorrow

Michael Becker is currently Principal Trombonist with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. Prior to this appointment in 2000, he held positions in the orchestras of Savannah and Honolulu. He has performed on Tenor and Bass Trombone with many orchestras throughout the United States and abroad, including  the London Symphony Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera Orchestra of Chicago, and with Sir Georg Solti's World Orchestra. Mr. Becker has also performed, toured and recorded extensively with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. 

Becker has been a member of the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson, Wyoming and most recently performed at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music in Santa Cruz, California. Since 2004, he has been a member of the Alpen Brass which performs at the Strings in the Mountains Summer Music Festival in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Mr. Becker has taught at the University of Hawaii as adjunct professor of Trombone.

In 2005, Mr. Becker started his Low Brass Boot Camp. This seminar is an intensive course focusing on solo performance, orchestral excerpts, ensembles, and audition preparation.
